Mission Statement:

The Jefferson Child Care and Education Center is a not-for -profit state licensed organization committed to providing affordable, quality and developmentally appropriate care for children from infancy to school-age. The individual needs of each child are recognized and addressed.

Educational Philosophy:

We recognize that children develop physically, emotionally and socially at their own individual pace. The Jefferson Child Care and Education Center provides an environment that offers children opportunities to grow and learn through a developmentally appropriate curriculum, which recognizes and addresses the needs of each child.

History:

Jefferson Child Care and Education Center was incorporated in 1974 as a private non profit 501(c) (3) organization, in response to the need for high quality affordable and developmentally appropriate child care services.

Since 1983, the Center has provided Before and After Kindergarten Care, Before and After School Care and Summer Camp. The Before and After Kindergarten program and Before and After School / Summer Camp programs are located in the Jefferson Township Public School buildings.

In 2007-2008 Infant and Toddler programs were added.

The Center is governed by a volunteer board of directors. Today we provided child care services to children ages 6 weeks to 12 years of age. In addition to child care services we offer parent education programs to enrolled families.

Funding through the N.J. Dept. of Human Services (DFD) and United Way of Morris County enables us to provide scholarships to a limited number of eligible families.

In 2008 we received accreditation through the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) in recognition for meeting the NAEYC standards for quality child care.

JCCEC is currently a pilot program in the NJ Grows Kids – Quality Rating Improvement System.
